WORCESTER Warriors centre Ben Te’o has been included in the British and Irish Lions' 41-man squad for this summer’s trip to New Zealand.

The 30-year-old, who joined Warriors from Leinster last summer, is in named in Warren Gatland’s party.

Auckland-born Te’o has bagged three tries in 10 appearances for Warriors.

He has won eight Test caps for England, including five in their title-winning Six Nations campaign with tries against France and Italy.

There are  surprise call-ups for Ireland full-back Jared Payne, England wing Jack Nowell and Wales back row Ross Moriarty.

The Lions' schedule:

The Lions begin their 10-match tour with a match against the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians in Whangarei on June 3.

The Lions then face Blues (June 7), Crusaders (June 10), Highlanders (June 17), Maori All Blacks (June 17) and Chiefs (June 20).

The first Test against the All Blacks takes place in Auckland on June 24
