WORCESTER Warriors have signed Fiji international lock Tevita Cavubati.

The 28-year-old will join up with his new Sixways team-mates after the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Cavubati, who has eight international caps for Fiji including one try, has been named among the replacements to face England in the opening game of the World Cup on Friday at Twickenham.

The 6ft 7ins forward formerly played for New Zealand side Tasman Makos in the ITM Cup alongside Warriors' summer signing Bryce Heem and centre Andy Symons before making the switch to Wales to play for Ospreys in the Guinness PRO12 last season.

Cavubati said: "I'm really excited to be joining Dean Ryan's squad and a very competitive Warriors side back in the Premiership.

"It will be great to follow up the high-level intensity of the Rugby World Cup and to move straight into a Warriors team with a passionate fan base.

"I can't wait to meet everyone at the club after the World Cup.”

Director of rugby Dean Ryan said: "Tevita will provide international experience and physicality in a key area.

"His time playing at the top level will only be beneficial to our young squad as we embark on our Aviva Premiership challenge.

"We're looking forward to seeing him test himself against the world's best over the next few weeks and wish him all the best at the World Cup.”
