EXPERIENCED forward Jonathan Thomas was suspended for Worcester Warriors' Championship semi-final first leg clash at London Scottish.
Warriors director of rugby Dean Ryan revealed the reason for Thomas' omission from last Saturday's squad when asked at the club's media conference this afternoon.
Many Worcester supporters posting on social media thought Thomas had been dropped due to poor form or in response to a yellow card shown in the previous week's narrow defeat against Bristol.
But Ryan said Thomas had missed out at Scottish because he was forced to serve a one-match suspension imposed by the RFU after picking up three yellow cards.
Warriors won the first leg at Scottish 27-22 and will be heading into Friday's second leg at Sixways (7.45pm) with a narrow five-point advantage.
