DYSON Perrins Academy won the under-16s district cup 55-5 in a one-sided final against Malvern rivals The Chase.

They took two buses with players and supporters over to Bromsgrove Rugby Club, creating an electric atmosphere for the final.

On a cold night, Dysons received possession from the kick-off and immediately set about their game-plan of hard running and utilising space.

The first bone-crunching hit by James Rowe set the tone for the match with both sides being physical.

But The Chase were denied by defiant defence and good attacking play from Dysons led to a string of tries.

Owen Baker (3), Joe Weaver (2), Rowe, Max Phillpotts, Dan Mansell and Alex Graham dived over.

Kieran Evans added some conversions in difficult conditions.

The Chase constantly posed threats going forward and were rewarded with a first-half try.

Weaver, Alastair MacDonald, Graham, Rowe, Phillpotts, Evans and Josh Robinson particularly impressed for Dysons.

Captain Baker was player-of-the-match for leading by example with a sterling display alongside his discipline and motivational skills.

Dysons play South Bromsgrove School in the North Midlands Plate semi-finals this month and hope to build on their success with future teams.
