LEDBURY Rugby Club’s season continued to peter out after a 35-23 home defeat to mid-table Pershore in Midlands Three West (South).
The Ross Road side have slipped down to fourth after previously harbouring outside hopes of promotion.
Following three consecutive league defeats, they visit second-placed Pinley on Saturday before heading to local rivals Upton the following weekend.
Newent have a crunch game at home to Bristol Saracens at the top of the Gloucester Premier Division on Saturday.
Saracens lead the table by four points from Newent so their clash will prove crucial. Bromyard, who visit Warley this weekend, lost 21-13 to rivals Tenbury in Midlands Four West (North).
Greg Leighton scored a try and Bobby Ralph kicked a penalty as Bromyard led 8-6 at half-time.
Leighton extended the lead with a try but then Tenbury took over to triumph.
