MALVERN Rugby Club have a daunting home match with runaway leaders Lichfield on Saturday (3pm) in their bid to escape the Midlands One West relegation zone.

The Staffordshire side have only lost twice and lead the table by 23 points, while Malvern are now second from bottom after Berkswell and Balsall beat Silhillians 23-16.

The Spring Lane side’s trip to Kenilworth saw them warm up for 30 minutes only for the heavens to open leaving the pitch unplayable. and The game will now be on Saturday, April 26.

There will be a rugby question and answer night at the club on Friday, April 4, at 7.30pm. Former Lion Mike Gibson, ex-England cap Olly Morgan and Worcester old boy Craig Gillies will be the guests with funds going towards national armed forces charity SSAFA.
