Future's bright for Upton side
7:30am Sunday 18th November 2012 in Rugby
UPTON’S youthful seconds took centre stage with a 12-0 win at their Ross-on-Wye counterparts.
With eight players aged 18 or under, scrum-half Jake Lee and his team-mates eclipsed their more experienced opponents.
Alongside veterans such as Maurice Bottomley, Mark Tether and Adam Staite, the youngsters outplayed Ross by using pace, power and ability to play an offloading game.
The first score came after runs from Max Macfarlane and Matt Dunwell with the former charging over. Dan Harknett converted.
Upton piled on the pressure and scored their second try when Bottomley charged down an attempted clearance as Jason Smart and Dave Hunt gathered and fed Dunwell who scored as they sealed the victory.
