Molloy calls for effort all round

MALVERN Town manager Paul Molloy has called on everyone at the club to pull together in a bid to drag the team from its present slump.

Eleven defeats from 13 matches has left Town with only Berkhamsted below them in Southern League Division One Midlands.

Tuesday's 4-1 reverse at Stourbridge was Malvern's third league defeat in and row, leaving them six points from safety and having played more games than the teams around them.

The situation is not helped by injuries to key players ahead of Saturday's match at the Langlands Stadium (3pm) against a Willenhall Town side whose manager Mel Eves resigned after losing 6-0 at Sutton Coldfield on Saturday.

Defender Andy Jones is out with a groin injury, while Jamie Hyde and fellow midfielder Gary Walker, on loan from Worcester City, are struggling with knee problems.

Manager Molloy said: "We are beginning to get cut adrift. It's demoralising, I have just got to keep picking the lads up. I keep repeating myself for team talks.

"We need to stick together and turn it round collectively. Every single one of us has got to pull together and hopefullly start putting a few wins together. We need to start winning because the gates are down as well.

"Willenhall have lost their manager but I don't know if that's a good or bad thing because that can spur a team on."

Of the 4-1 mid-week loss at Stourbridge, in which Mark Bellingham scored a hat-trick for the Glassboys, Molloy said: "They deserved it. The effort from the lads was really good, I couldn't fault it but we had five lads missing who would have all started and it was difficult right from the off."
