Manager Molloy still optimistic

MALVERN Town are hoping to boost their season by making some money out of run in the Errea Cup.

Paul Molloy's side won 1-0 at Stourbridge in the first round and head to Cinderford Town tomorrow (Wednesday) with a place in third round at stake (7.45).

Malvern have only won once in Southern League Division One Midlands but are eyeing another victory in the competition and a money-spinning home draw in the next round.

The manager said: "It will be a nice distraction from the league.

"We are hoping to get through and get Leamington or Bromsgrove in the next round at home and get a decent crowd. You don't get anything financially unless you are at home."

Malvern's 2-0 defeat against Aylesbury United at the Langlands on Saturday was their ninth in 11 league games this season.

However, Molloy is remaining upbeat about the situation. He said: "We played really well on Saturday against Aylesbury. It was probably the best we have played all season but we still crashed because we can't take our chances."

Malvern welcome back striker Danny Harding-Hall from knee ligament damage and could give a debut to midfielder Andy Crowther, signed from local league football.

Fellow midfielders Greg Andrews and Adam New, who made their debuts at the weekend, could also continue in the side.
