Sponsor search is on for league
THE search for a new sponsor for the Malvern Football league will be top of the agenda at their AGM next Monday.
A new sponsor will be discussed by league bosses and team representatives at the meeting, held at the Pheasant Inn, Welland, from 7.30pm.
The league has been without a sponsor since March when the previous backers pulled out.
League officials said there have been a couple of enquiries from companies but hope to secure a brand new deal during the close season.
Outgoing secretary Joe Whitehouse said it is very important that all teams, plus prospective teams, are represented at the meeting as there are several important matters to discuss.
League representatives will also look back on a difficult campaign.
The death of stalwart and fixture secretary Richard Allen led to Bell Inn 98, last year's champions, folding as he was their club secretary and no-one stepped forward to replace him.
Due to recent bad weather the season has also been extended and will now end next Tuesday (May 13
