Round-up
Reserves share points in draw
MALVERN TOWN RESERVES 2,
HEATH TOWN 2.
MALVERN'S second string had to settle for a share of the points against promoted Heath Town.
Heath Town proved why they are the team with the best away scoring record in the league as they raced into a two goal lead in the first 34 minutes at the Langland Stadium.
Their goals came when Matthew Jukes burst through on 21 minutes beating both Joe Leighton and keeper Nial Hacking to the ball and, toe-poking home.
Their second goal came courtesy of a long clearance by keeper Matt Moore and Nathaniel Lawson fired home from the edge of the box, his shot taking a deflection before hitting the net.
Malvern gave themselves a life-line five minutes before the break when Rob Cullen crossed into the box and quick feet by Dale Humphries saw the ball laid back to Andy Fletcher and the defender hammered home from seven yards.
With Mike Cole and Joe Leighton in sparkling form and well supported by midfielder Paul Edwards, Malvern gradually dominated the game.
Tom Crump delivered a series of superb free-kicks in the second-half and from one such delivery, Paul Edwards put More under pressure and when the keeper mis-handled the ball, Edwards tapped the ball into an empty net, drawing the sides level in an exciting score draw.
The game was fairly even over the last 30 minutes with both sides pressing for a winner, and ultimately a draw was a fair result.
