Radar off target at home
MALVERN RADAR 1, DROITWICH SPA RESERVES 2
RADAR only had themselves to blame for throwing away the points, losing 2-1 at home to Droitwich Spa Reserves.
The malvern-based side conceded two soft goals and missed some easy chances to claim victory. Everything looked well at half-time following a good performance and an excellent goal which gave them the lead after 20 minutes. Marian Halcak weaved his way down the right and crossed to the edge of the area where Neil Henderson acrobatically volleyed into the corner of the net.
Halcak nearly added a second with a blistering drive, which was tipped over by Simon Denby in the Spa goal. It wasn't all one way, though, and Rob Bell and Dan Shemans showed some nice skills and Radar centre-half Tom Grubb was called upon to make some timely tackles.
Radar kicked into the wind in the second-half and were immediately put under pressure and, following a right-wing corner, Andy Holliday stooped unmarked to head in at the back post. He added his second five minutes later, this time bundling the ball over the line following some hesitant defending.
Radar had good chances to level the scores with Henderson dragging his shot wide from eight yards and then somehow hitting the post from close range after Halcak had set him up once again.
Clive Churchill was also just off target with a rocket free-kick and, despite the late effort, Droitwich comfortably saw the game out.
