Callow crash in muddy thriller
NEW AFC BARBOURNE 5, CALLOW END 3
CALLOW End's squad were very depleted for this mudbound fixture and for various reasons were forced to play the first 40 minutes with only ten players.
Callow End's 4-4-1 formation battled hard on the heavy pitch and took the lead on 15 minutes through a long range strike from Adam Morse.
Barbourne hit back with two quick goals.
Callow End restored parity on the half-hour mark when Sam Black headed home a corner.
Adam Spencer arrived to get Callow back up to the full complement of players.
Alex Jellyman, Lance Passey and Graham Crowe had been performing miracles at the back, but then Barbourne took a 3-2 lead with a miss-hit cross looped over Dave Gray.
Marc Cooke put Callow back on level term on the hour from the penalty spot after Black had been hauled down.
Barbourne added two late goals seal victory.
Callow End still train on Wednesdays at Worcester Uni 7-8pm.
