Morgan score five to sink Predators
MOST of the teams in the Malvern Football League played their final games of this year at the weekend with ties in the Norman Simmons Senior Cup and a league fixture.
Keys Predators took on Morgan Aero 8 and were found lacking in this encounter. Although the Predators created a few clear cut chances they never managed to convert any of them, the Morgan on the other hand managed to score from most of their opportunities. With a strike from Martin Philpotts and a double strike from both Peter O'Connell and James Argent they ran out 5-0 winners.
Fromes Tigers played Cross Keys and were also made to look second best right from the kick-off. They may have been struggling to get any possession but it was the Tigers that scored first. This seemed to spur on the Keys side and they were soon totally dominant all over the pitch.
A goal from Rob Cullen and again two double strikes this time from Ed Lyons and Matt Brookes gave the Cross Keys a 5-1 winning scoreline.
Belmont Keys were up against La Mano De Dios and were also struggling to maintain any possession. While chances were hard to come by for Belmont it was a different story for La Mano and they should have scored a number of times before Lewis and Joel Skyers and Tom Brazington scored to earn themselves a 3-0 win.
In the league fixture, Fir Tree played their return match against Keyz 04 hoping to avenge their narrow 3-4 defeat in the previous encounter. Their hopes seemed to be a real possibility when they took an early lead and kept it almost to the end of the first-half but a deflected John Gullock shot sent their keeper the wrong way and it was all square.
In the second-half it was 04 that came to the fore and a double strike from Andy Lancett sandwiching one from his brother Nick gave them a 4-1 lead and the Fir Tree hopes were dashed as they got less and less chance to attack and the game finished 4-1 in favour of the Keyz side.
