MALVERN United Angling association held their AGM and presentation evening at the Newtown club.
There was a good turnout of members old and new, which in his address chairman Phil Harding said he was very encouraged by as it showed the club was in good health.
Mr Harding thanked the committee once again for all their hard work throughout the season, especially with bank clearing on the club's waters, on the Avon, Severn and pool.
He said that similar hard work was needed throughout the coming season to improve and maintain the venues, particularly the extra pegs acquired at Holdfast on the Severn, and he called upon members to lend a hand if they possibly could.
The secretary Mick Perks reported that the fishing had been good over the past season, with some good bags of barbel and bream being caught from Holdfast on the Severn, and the Avon providing consistent sport for roach and bream too.
The club's pool at Mathon continued to improve with good carp nets caught. The outings to the Wye were very successful and more are planned for the coming season.
Club stalwart Ray Bishop was on hand to present the trophies this year, after which members enjoyed a buffet provided by the committee.
The evening was rounded off with a successful raffle and a quiz.
