ANOTHER successful winter seniors league concluded with Bransford collecting the championship day trophy at Burlish Park.

Bewdley club Little Lakes topped the five-strong league as Bransford finished fourth overall.

On championship day, five clubs fielded 12 players apiece in a stableford format and the domination of Wharton Park, with three successive victories, was broken. The day’s highest score was achieved by Bransford’s Roy Williams with 43. Bransford bagged 424 points, just four ahead of Little Lakes, with Park third on 417.

Bransford seniors made a successful start to their summer campaign with a 4½-1½ win over Brickhampton Court.

Scores: Sheldon and Wallcroft halved, Ferey Ghani and Williams won 5 and 3, Saunders and Bowen won 1 up, Stan Parnell and Tony Robinson lost 2 down, Godwin and Phillips won 8 and 6, Elrick and Davidge won 1 up.

A mixed Bransford team won 5-2 at Henley-in-Arden.
