MALVERN Town Wanderers Colts won 4-1 against Warndon Villages Hawks, who are one place above them in Mercian Festival Junior League Under 12s Division Two.

The hosts opened the scoring when Billy Coleman was set up to score by Jordan Roan after Megan Jones hit the bar.

Hayden Bell struck a firm volley from distance before Hawks replied after a defensive mix-up.

In the second-half, James McDermott added Colts’ third goal and Dan Dalton-Golding fired a fourth into the roof of the net.

• Newtown Sports Juniors were denied by a late equaliser in a 3-3 draw with fellow high-fliers Kidderminster Lions in Stourport Youth League Under 11s Division One.

Juniors seized control when Ben Bromage hooked in Harry Bytheway’s long free-kick and Matthew Brookes’ shot somehow found its way through a crowded penalty area.

Straight from the second-half kickoff, Lions pulled a goal back and they then equalised only for substitute Milo Elmes to race clear five minutes from time to fire the Malvern side back in front.

However, the scoring was not complete as in injury-time a Lions striker just beat keeper Owen Lowe to steer the ball into the empty net.

• Ledbury Swifts Rovers scored nine goals for the second week running against Leominster Minors when winning 9-1 in the Herefordshire FA Tesco Under 13s Cup quarter-finals.

Rovers were soon ahead when Sam Branch was sent clear to finish neatly before Callum Williams, Joseph Cotton and Branch extended the lead to 4-0 at half-time.

After the break, Ledbury were soon on the scoresheet once more when Charlie Ayland neatly slotted past the on-rushing keeper.

Branch increased his personal haul to four goals and, despite a Leominster consolation, Ayland and Joseph Bullock completed the scoring.
