MORE Malvern Joggers than ever before have secured a place in this year’s Virgin London Marathon.
Thirteen members of the running club will tackle the 26.2-mile race around the capital on April 22.
Some Joggers will run for charity and others entered the London Marathon ballot, while the club were also awarded three automatic places due to their size.
Marathon first-timer Tony Bennett said: “There is a really amazing atmosphere among the Malvern Joggers’ marathon runners.
“Our running club is always supportive of all runners but I have been staggered by how we have all rallied around and helped each other out.”
As well as the weekly club runs on Wednesdays, Joggers have organised speed interval sessions and hill repetitions as well as long weekend runs on the hills.
Bennett added: “With all the preparation, we are all hopeful we will do well in London. We are hoping having 13 runners in the race will be lucky for us!”
Joggers meet at Malvern St James School Sports Centre at 7pm every Wednesday. For more details, visit malvernjoggers.co.uk
