PTERODACTYL Old Boys moved within two points of leaders Broadheath Belters with an 8-2 win over Manor Park Express in Paperstation Malvern League Division One.

Dave White and Wayne Chopping both won their three singles and the doubles, while Steve Glazzard claimed their other set.

CSSC Ramblers kept the pressure on the top two by beating Manor Park Travellers 10-0 with Chris Hewitt, Alan Salisbury and Graham Thompson all unbeaten on the night.

Express claimed a hard-fought 7-3 win over Crackpots ‘E’ with Pete Griffiths winning his three singles in straight games and Ray Page triumphing twice.

YMCA Vulcans and Ledbury Lions drew 5-5 in a match when 18 of the games were decided by just two points.

Lukasz Gatkiewicz won his three singles for Vulcans, while Lions’ Steve Meredith and Richard Smith both won twice.

In Division Two, Poolbrook Rangers managed to get two three-point wins and still have a match in hand but are five points behind the leaders.

Richard Cullis won six singles and both the doubles for Rangers, while Robert Weston claimed four. Alastair Maxwell Stewart took two in an 8-2 win over Manor Park Devils and Weston did likewise in an 8-2 victory against Malvern Tornados.

The Scuttling Gang had a tough 8-2 success over Ripple. Pete Nash and Peter Quy were the two winners for Ripple with Ray Davies and Chris Field taking three and the doubles for Gang.

Roger Davies won three and the doubles with Nash, who added two singles successes, for Ripple in an 8-2 triumph against XPolice.

Stan Ginn saved the whitewash for Crackpots ‘B’ in a 9-1 loss to The Scuttling Gang but Ray Davies and Bill Smith both claimed three.

Manor Park Crackpots nearly halved the points with CSSC Nomads as Stephen Lindner won three singles and Will Jones one.

For Nomads, Tony Hughes and Geoff Davies took two each with Adrian Fray winning one and the doubles with Hughes for Nomads in their 6-4 success.

Charlie Burford won three for Dukes Way Dynamos in a 7-3 win over Abbeydowne.
