SEVEN games gone in their Midlands One campaign and their promotion celebrations in April must seem like a lifetime ago now.

After last week's 35-22 defeat at the hands of Newport, Malvern host Broadstreet and look to stop the rot which has seen them rooted to the bottom of the table without a point to their name yet this campaign.

LIVE! Malvern RFC v Broadstreet

4.45pm- MATCH REPORT: MALVERN RFC may be able to replay this afternoon's 56-10 loss to Broadstreet at Spring Lane by using the sport's rule book in their favour.

In what proved to be a horror afternoon for Dave Robins' men, Malvern could see their latest league defeat classed as a void and replayed after they lost two of their front row to injury within the first 60 minutes of the match.

The sport's rules also state the game can be replayed if there are uncontested scrums contested within the same period of the match which was the case in this afternoon's game.

This is currently being checked over by the Malvern officials but they would welcome the match to be replayed after a thrashing at the hands of Broadstreet today.

The home side were up against it after the first ten minutes when Simon Daws was sent off for an alleged stamping in a decision which stunned the crowd and some of the players.

The 14 men that remained on the pitch battled well but Daws' dismissal changed the complexion of the match instantly.

From then on the visitors dominated proceedings, wracking up five tries and took a 20-0 lead at the break, in a match which was full of controversy and over-zealous play by both teams' packs.

But Malvern stormed out of the blocks in the second period with Thomas Beechy scoring his side's only try of the afternoon within two minutes of the re-start.

Broadstreet resumed control and put Malvern to the sword from there with further tries and penalty scores as their one-man advantage began to tell.

The heavy defeat is Malvern's eighth in a row but will the match be replayed?

3.50pm- FULL-TIME: MALVERN 10-56 BROADSTREET. Malvern get mauled but there are unconfirmed reports that the game may have to be replayed.

Due to RFU rules, a game becomes nil and void if a team has two front row players taken off and there are uncontested scrums in the match both within the first hour of the game. This is what happened today so Malvern RFC officials will look into this. For full coverage on this, read next Friday's Malvern Gazette. Match report to follow.
