MALVERN director of rugby David Robins has continued to bolster the squad for the new Midlands One season with two more summer signings.

Greg Summers has joined from Stourbridge to play on the wing, where he recently represented North Midlands in the county championship.

Another player moving from Stourbridge to Spring Lane is Carl Robinson, a powerful centre who was playing for the National Two side's development XV last term.

Robins said: "I'm delighted to welcome both lads to Spring Lane, where I am confident they will settle quickly into the squad and the challenges that Midlands One offers."

A delighted Robins added: "Greg is a bit of a local legend. He's a very quick, strong runner.

"He scored four tries against Durham recently and I have been tracking him for some time.

"I could do with a loose-head prop and also a big second-row player to augment the engine room and I am also keen to develop some emerging talent.

"Now we have reached the top level of regional rugby, we are well placed to take and develop talent from lower-ranked local teams, as we did with Shaun Lancett."

But having just secured his fourth signing of the close-season, Robins is still looking for more players to boost the existing player roster.

Full training starts at Spring Lane on July 1 and will take place every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7pm.
