THE Herefordshire and Worcestershire 12 and under girls qualified for the Inter County Cup national finals at Bolton.
Brushing aside the hot temperatures, the team travelled to Wrexham for the regional competition along with Shropshire, north Wales, south Wales, Warwickshire and Staffordshire.
Malvern's Manor Park player Bethany Pye was involved alongside local coach Lucy Sanders who together with Luke Petit captained the side.
The two counties defeated north Wales and Staffordshire 4-0 to top the group.
In a nail-biting finish, they beat south Wales in the final match shoot-out to take the top position with Josie Ward and Caoimhe Guppy winning the deciding doubles match 5-3, 5-3.
There will be a Great British Tennis Weekend open day at Manor Park on Saturday from 2pm until 4pm with family play, mini, junior and adult coaching sessions.
