YOUNG driver Harry Yardley-Rose bids to follow in the tracks of F1 aces Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button in the seven-round Super One British Championship.

The 14-year-old races karts at Motor Sports Association level against the best drivers at local clubs at Rissington and Shenington and as far afield as Scotland, Wales, Dorset and Lincolnshire.

Yardley-Rose competes in the Junior TKM class and previous winners of the championship include Button and Hamilton.

The year nine pupil is also in Hanley Castle High’s team who compete in the British Schools Karting Championships.

They qualified for the south and west regional final from preliminary heats in Bristol and then finished second overall at Thruxton.

The boys head for the national final at Whilton Mill, Northamptonshire, on June 30.

Year seven pupil Alistair Cresswell also attends Hanley Castle and competes in the Super One British Championship in the Honda Cadet class.

Both boys live near Malvern.

The competitors are looking for local businesses or individuals who may be interested in sponsoring them.
