MALVERN Joggers’ Suzie Lane was back for a second 26 miles one week after competing in the blistering heat of the London Marathon.

She joined Julia Heron at the Newport Marathon on a flat, fast course in a chilly breeze.

Lane raised funds for the British Heart Foundation with a time of three hours 59 minutes 19 seconds while her club-mate clocked 4.17.21.

Lane said: “Having already ran in three marathons I thought I should set myself a bigger challenge.

“I decided on two marathons in a week in the hope it would raise more money for my chosen charity.

“It was my partner who suggested running for the British Heart Foundation having lost somebody close at the beginning of the year.”

The Malvern Hills Trail Half Marathon involved three Joggers with Martha Worthington the first woman home in 2.03.26.

Mike Anstey was third in his age category in 2.41.21 while Lynda Broadway did 3.13.

The Droitwich Half Marathon incorporated the Wocestershire County Half Marathon Championships was run on quiet country lanes with some challenging hills.

Joggers were led home by Simon Richardson in 1.31.13 followed by Jerry Greer (1.44.01), Kareen Mann (1.49.49 - first FV50), Andrew Gallagher (1.56.37), Julie Caseley (1.57.55 - second FV50), Lucy Gallagher (1.59.32 - third FV50) and Helen Card (2.19.49) in her first half marathon.
