THE Worcestershire completed a second 4-2 victory over Droitwich in the return Worcestershire Handicap League fixture.

Conditions were much improved with wins for Ralph Kelsall and Chris Hardy, Steve Carter and Allie Renton and Nic Day and John Whitehead.

A 6&5 success for Phil Birch and Pat Mcllroy sealed victory despite defeats for P Meakin and J Hibbert and Brian Kendall and Steve Homes in tight games.

In the ladies’ first medal of the season, Alison Tuck triumphed in Division One.

Tuck was one under par on the front nine and finished her round four shots clear of her nearest rival with a nett 75.

Chris Urry and Jackie Marks made up the top three with scores of 79 and 82.

In Division Two, Julie Saunders topped the table with 80, two clear of Christine Goody. Tina Jukes was third with 83.

In the men’s tankard foursomes, Nick Smith and Phil Shurmer won by a single point, helped by three birdies on the front nine at holes four, five and seven.

Runners-up were Mike Bothma and Mike Day with 37, two clear of Nigel Collins and Martin Lloyd.
