MALVERN Joggers held their yearly sports awards.

They were voted for by members to celebrate notable achievements and contributions to the club over the past 12 months.

Matthew Lancett, one of Joggers' fittest athletes who is battling back from a serious illness, won the Roodies Pants Award.

Ahcene Bengriche was best newcomer after going from strength to strength, winning at park run and achieving great results in marathons and cross-country events.

The most improved runner went to Rhian Protheroe who also won one of Joggers' London Marathon places in the club ballot.

The second London spot went to Sam Eden and the Edinburgh Marathon draw was won by Jerry Greer.

Sue Lewis claimed The Always a Pleasure Never A Chore Cup for being a delight to run with.

Joggers Joggers went to Graham Bird who has led by example in his run walk group.

The chairman's award was collected by Natalie Bennett who has excelled at cross-country and trail events.

Club person of the year was Paul Newman for his work publicising the club.

Steve Roode lifted the special achievement award for conquering the Everest Marathon among other challenges.

In the club's champions league, Ben Toon won for the men ahead of Nic Dauncey in second and Roode in third.

Julie Caseley bagged the women's equivalent ahead of Alison Priest in second and Rhian Protheroe in third.

Meanwhile, Wesley Ogden and Megz Judge competed in the Tempo Series race four, a 10k at Illmington, in wintery conditions, finishing in 57 minutes nine seconds and 46.12 respectively.

Judge was second woman.
