MALVERN Buzzards Running Club are looking for new members.

The group, affiliated to England Athletics, was founded in 2016 by a group of passionate trail runners who use the paths and tracks over Malvern Hills as well as the area's roads.

Buzzards chose their name after the sculpture in Rose Garden where they meet to begin most of their runs.

They have been running together and sharing their experiences on Strava but thanks to Simeon Foreman have now taken a leap to EA affiliation.

The group is continuously growing with males and females.

Although trail running is a preference for the founders, most members also like to run on the road or on tracks.

They will focus this year on the Hilly Hundred in Stratford in April, the Malvern Hills Trail Half Marathon later that month, the Malvern Hills Ultra in May, the Joust in Worcester in September and the Beacon Race in October.

Buzzards will be constantly present at the Worcester Woods Country Parkruns on Saturdays.

Last May, they won the Malvern Hills Ultra as a relay team.

Buzzards impressed at the Croome Capability Canter and the Seven Sins race in the Forest of Dean alongside a success at this month's Fan Dance Run on the Brecon Beacons.

The committee representing Buzzards are chairman Francesco Cornacchia, secretary Foreman, team captain Andy Dingley, treasurer Adam Wilson, kit officer Leigh Shardlow, press and welfare officer Paola Sestito and DBS verifier Jason Cox.
