MALVERN Joggers' members tackled one of the worlds' largest and most popular road races in Germany.

The flat Berlin Marathon course was completed by Bert Lacey in a five-minute personal best of three hours 48 minutes 28 seconds and by Julie Caseley in 3.59.45.

Joggers' runners also headed to The Big Dipper annual running race around the village of Upton Bishop.

On the 10-kilometre course 90 per cent is either running up or downhill with the final steep climb at Probyn’s Pitch set to test at the end.

In a time of 51.46 Claire Haynes won the female team prize with Alison Priest.

She said: “I'm really happy with the result. It was faster than my recent flat 10k runs and this was rather hilly.”

Joggers' club-mate Jon Newey was first male over 40 in 39.38 while Priest was first female over 50 in 52.15.

Nic Dauncey ran 42.38 and Ben Toon 42.29.

Colin Rowley was the lone Jogger in a wet Swansea 10km race and completed it in just under 50 minutes.

The Forest of Dean autumn half-marathon was set in woodland with a single lap of forestry tracks.

Sam Eden was first Jogger home in one hour 42 minutes 20 seconds followed by Jerry Greer in 1.46.27, Ian Dyson in 1.51.38, Martin Reed-Darby in 1.55.05, Isla Whitmore in 2.00.38 and Gaynor Bruce in 2.06.10.

Sue Lewis competed in the Norton 10k, which supported St Richard's Hospice, with her husband Andrew and a team of Joggers.

A delighted Sue said: “I beat my 10k time by four minutes.”

Warwick Taylor ran 51.48, Ian Whitlock 74.00, Jodie Moffatt 75.08, Sue Lewis 76.42, Jim Wheatstone 54.55, Laura Peakman 53.43, Gerry Taggart 59.55 for first in his age category and Daniel Nisbet 65.30.
