BRANSFORD Golf Club attracted players from across the Midlands to a successful first pro-am as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.

The winning professional was Fulford Heath’s Richard Davies with 71, just two shots ahead of Telford’s Luke Taylor (73).

Third was decided on countback with Phil Lathwood from Churchill and Blakedown getting the nod ahead of Hagley’s Simon Gabbitas and Ian Clark from Breadsall Priory on 74.

The team prize went to the Cleeve Hill four-ball of Andy Cresswell, Dave Finch, Olly Finch and Derek John on 124.

They were four ahead of Bransford’s Graham Wallace, Andy Lammas, Lesley Lammas and Dave Lewis.

The hosts' Ollie Walker, Mitchell Smart, Carl Wiltshire and Jenny Bennett were third with 128.

Four nearest-the-pin prizes went to Bransford with Gavin Heath (3rd), Keiran Kinsella (fifth), Wiltshire (13th) and Andy Lammas (15th) successful.

The Vale’s Ken Vincent won on the 11th.

Longest drive prizes went to Bransford's Tom Agnew on the fourth and Lesley Lammas on the 16th.

Bransford seniors kept up their unbeaten home record by defeating Evesham 5-1 and Puckrup Hall 6-0.

Against Evesham Alan Wallcroft (22) and John Phillips (19) won 2&1, Dave Miller (17) and Pete Harrison (24) 5&4, Harry Godwin (20) and Gordon White (25) 4&3, Trevor Atkinson (14) and Andy Falconer (26) 5&4 and Rob Blake (16) and Roger Clark (23) 4&2.

Ivor Lloyd (19) and Paul Edlin (23) lost 3&2.

There were wins against Puckrup Hall for Wallcroft and Miller two-up, Blake and Edlin 2&1, Lloyd and Godwin 3&1, Phillips and Harrison one-up, Atkinson and White 6&5 and Mike Davidge (16) and Clark one-up.

Bransford drew 3-3 at Brickhampton despite being a player short. 

Wallcroft and Blake won 5&4, Miller and Clark 2&1 and Mark Heason (13) and Williams 2&1.

Ghani lost 3&1, Atkinson and Godwin 2&1 and Lee Dyment (10) and Phillips 3&2.

The Mike Kemp Cup foursomes stableford was won by Dave Ryall and Gerry Rebbeck with 38 points.

David Lindsay and Heason and Malcolm Bradley and Roger Steade scored 37 ahead of Bob McGrath and Godwin on 36, Clark and Wallcroft on 35 and Adrian Wood’s team on 34.
