HATTIE Harnden was crowned National Cross Country Series champions after finishing top of the Youth Female standings.

The Malvern Cycle Sport ace produced another storming ride to win final round at Builth Wells and secure the title.

Club mate Evie Richards also claimed an impressive victory on the technically demanding course at the Royal Welsh Showground.

But having not been present at many rounds due to World Cup duty, Richards claimed second overall in the National Series.

The boys were in action too, with Ross Harnden putting in a fantastic race to come on top in the Junior Men category by a large margin.

Malvern’s Liam Killeen, who has had quite a quiet race season, produced a superb performance to get second spot in a very competitive Elite Men race.

Meanwhile, Malvern Cycle Sport had success at the British Cycling National MTB Championships having sent a team of 11 riders.

Richards and Hattie Harnden claimed top honours at Cannock Chase as they clinched the Under 23 Female and the Youth Female titles respectively.
