LUCAS Dutton showed his promise as he landed a place on the podium at Tewkesbury Children’s Triathlon.

The seven-year-old, who is one of Malvern Triathlon Club’s youth members, came second out of 23 competitors in his year group.

The Colwall Primary School pupil swam two lengths of the swimming pool followed by a two-lap bike leg on smooth grass, with a small gradient at the end, before completing the two-lap run.

Stephen Dick tackled the IRONMAN 70.3 in Exmoor.

The swim was Dick’s greatest challenge as he aimed to complete it within the one-hour cut off time. But he did this with 30 seconds to spare and set off on a catch up mission on the bike leg, delivering the 54 miles in three hours 50 minutes 26 seconds and the 13-mile run in 2.18.46.

Dick achieved an overall finish time of 7.22.49.
