FEREY Ghani’s fine form has continued with victory in Bransford seniors’ August medal.

Ghani (13 handicap) shot 85 for the lowest gross and pipped Mike Davidge on countback after both returned 72 nett.

Davidge managed 88 gross 16 handicap 72 nett, Bob McGrath 92-18=74, Charlie Payne 87-13=74, Ian Hamilton 88-12=76 and Graham Thomas 87-11=76.

Division Two saw Lee Dyment score 93-20=73, Roger Clark 97-22=75, Bill Bowen 97-22=75, Ken Jones 98-22=76 and John Knowles 100-22=78.

Pauline Wetton totalled 97-27=70 in Division Three, John Hadley 101-28=73, Allen Rowberry 101-26=75. Adrian Wood 102-25=77, Mike Holmes 107-28=79 and Mike Kemp 107-28=79.

Fifty-six seniors tackled the B and H Trophy (Bradley and Holmes) in a pairs medal-stableford.

Roy Burston and Dick Bettsworth emerged ahead of the pack with 6.

Trevor Atkinson and Glen Mallinson were runners-up on 9 followed by Ted Buckett and Phil Spencer on 10 and McGrath and Anne Hamilton with 11 on countback from Peter Harrison and Dave Ryall.

Roy Mayo and Lee Dyment were sixth with 12 on countback from Alan Wallcroft and John Knowles and Brian Taylor and Roger Clark.

The fourth round of the seniors’ summer stableford league saw a win in Division One for Trevor Atkinson (13 handicap) on 36 ahead of Dave Miller (18), Ian Hamilton, June Atkinson (18) and Terry Martin (14) on 34 and McGrath (18) and Ghani on 33. Atkinson heads the league on 110 ahead of Gerry Rebbeck’s 106, Miller on 97 and Ghani and Hamilton on 95.

Division Two was led by Roy Williams (20) on 38 in front of Rob Wetton (23) 37, Bill Bowen (22) 35 and John Phillips (22), Richard Holding (21) and Brian Corfield (23) on 34.

Phil Spencer (24) topped Division Three with 41 followed by John Burrow (27) 40, Mike Holmes (28) 38, Dick Bettsworth (27) 33, Adrian Wood (25) 32 and Mike Kenway (31) 31.

The main club’s mid-month stableford in July was won by club champion Ollie Walker (3) on 41 points with Dave Lewis (10) second on 39 on countback from Jason Keane (18).
