DRIVING for success raised more than £4,000 at leading regional law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ annual golf day, with all the money going to the firm’s charitable trust to be distributed to local causes.

Nineteen teams from the three counties teed off at the Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern Wells, with some tempting prizes spurring them on.

The winning team was from Wilson Field, taking away the trophy sponsored by Scott Farms International, Evesham, followed by CVR Global from Birmingham, only three points behind, with a team from Harrison Clark Rickerbys taking the next spot, again three points away.

Neil Gayler and Diederick Opperman won the nearest-to-the-pin awards and the longest drive prize went to Josh Marshall.

All the players were able to take home goodie bags including sponsors’ products.

The hole-in-one contest, with a chance to win a Mercedes A-class worth £24,000 was the subject of some nail-biting golf, butthe car stays safely in its garage this year as the award went unclaimed.

Harrison Clark Rickerbys senior partner Jonathan Brew, said “I was delighted to be able to take part myself this year — the course was stunning, set against the backdrop of the Malvern Hills, and we were, as a firm, pleased to have been able to raise a substantial sum for the Trust that will be distributed in due course to local good causes.”

Mat Waddington, partner and secretary of the Harrison Clark Rickerbys Charitable Trust, said: “The golf day is such an important event for the trust and we’d like to thank the firm and our sponsors, Jelf Group, Worcester Mercedes and Scott Farms International for all their support.

“Sutcliffe & Co Insurance sponsored the nearest the pin competition and Border Office Supplies and Systems also supported the event, for which we are very grateful.

“We are delighted with the amount raised, all of which will be distributed to good causes across the three counties.”

The day ended with a presentation dinner and an auction.
