LEDBURY teenager Tom Holmes has been selected to play his first games for England this weekend in Wiltshire.

The 15-year-old Herefordshire bowls player recently won the under-18s national singles at Leamington Spa and is in a 12-strong squad to participate in the first Test Series for the age group against Wales at Wootton Bassett.

The match has been organised as part of Bowls England’s continuing commitment to increase opportunities for younger players to participate in the sport.

They will take part in a number of disciplines and formats over two days.

Junior international team managers Hedley Bowen and Gail Gilkes will lead the squad.

Meanwhile, Kidderminster club Oldington achieved the double with both teams reaching the final of the Eastnor invitation triples tournament.

The tournament comprised 24 teams from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
