THE ninth Upton Triathlon will involve 500 men and women of all abilities tomorrow.
Children as young as one are to take part in the second Upton kids’ fun run beforehand with a group warm-up at 10.50am followed by 100 metres for under fives and a timed one kilometre for five years and over.
The triathletes will swim down the River Severn to Upton from 12.30pm before cycling along local lanes and finishing with a five or 10km run.
Pete O’Brien, better known as the DJ at the post-race party, will take on his first triathlon to mark his 60th birthday.
The event will raise £2,800 for this year’s charity Severn Area Rescue Association.
Children can enter the kids’ fun run until 10.45am on the day.
