TWENTY-SIX Malvern Joggers ventured over to Bromyard for their annual 4.2-mile Round The Downs road race.

The contest, which attracted a record entry this year, formed part of the Bromyard Gala weekend.

The race began by Bromyard Post Office and was started by the town crier Peder Nielsen.

The course took runners out up to the Bromyard Downs and back into town before returning to the post office.

Joggers dominated the field and came away with an impressive number of prizes from the event.

They were led home by Jon Newey in a blistering 25 minutes 11 seconds as he won the first men’s veteran prize and the Round the Downs Trophy.

Hot on his heels was Henry Walker, who finished second in the open male category in 25.58 followed by Ben Toon in 28.14.

Megan Judge bagged first prize in the open female category in 30.23.

Trevor Matty was third men’s veteran in 30.54 and Ian Walwyn second male super veteran in 31.47.

Ewelina Skolimowska finished second open female in 33.46, with Julie Caseley crowned first female veteran in 34.44.

Amanda Duncan’s time of 34.54 earned her second female veteran, while Alison Priest clocked 35.16 to be third behind her club-mate.

Emily Priest secured the accolade for third open female by running 37.41.

Fellow Joggers were Paul Webb ran 32.47, John Bryan 32.55, Mark Cooling 33.34, Andrew Gallagher 34.53, Chris Jolley 35.47, Suzie Lane 35.50, Glyn Davies 36.11, Steve Roode 36.15, Mike Anstey 37.08, Mike Spragg 38.13, Julia Heron 39.09, Lucy Gallagher 39.09, Lynda Broadway 40.06, Vivien Tolley 40.55 and Charly Lowndes 46.16.

All prize winners received a certificate presented by Bromyard mayor Tony Burt, which entitled them free entry into the 2015 Bromyard Gala.
