FIFTEEN-year-old Sophie Price is the 2015-16 captain of Ross-on-Wye Golf Club's juniors’ section.
She succeeds Niall Powell, who set a fine example to the Gorsley club’s youngsters during the last 18 months.
Price has a strong golfing pedigree with both father Steve and mother Lois being dedicated to the game.
The teenager also shows interest in a range of sports, which includes horse riding with the Ledbury Pony Club and swimming at Newent.
Price has volunteered under the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in Ross’ Tim Hall School of Golf and the Juniors Academy.
Having started playing the sport as an eight-year-old, Price won the ladies’ annual Gordon Blake Cup when aged 13 and recently competed as a 16-handicapper in the May medal with 51 competitors.
Her 74 nett score secured fourth overall and first in Handicap Division One.
