THREE Malvern Triathlon Club members competed in one of the biggest races in the duathlon calendar, with Vikki Sivertsen bagging a British title.

The British Age Group Championships were held at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, in cold and windy conditions.

The classic distance race consisted of a 10-kilometre run, followed by a 40k bike course, and finished with 5km on foot.

It was also a qualifying race for the 2015 world championships and 2016 European championships.

The opportunity to compete for a championship title meant the race attracted some of the best age-group duathletes from around the United Kingdom, resulting in a high level of competition.

The first Malvern athlete over the finish line was Rob Hurley in a creditable 11th place, in an extremely competitive male 35 to 39 year category.

Next to finish was Sivertsen who, after a strong bike leg, finished in first place in her age group and picked up the title of British champion in the female 45 to 49 category.

A fine day for the Malvern club was complete when Lisa Hurley finished the race in third place in the female 35 to 39 category to claim a bronze medal.
