De Santos hurts Oak Apple

INTER Express ended Worcester and District League Sunday Division Two leaders Oak Apple’s 100 per cent record after 10 wins.

Tom De Santos scored both as the fifth-placed Malvern side, who host Worcester Saints this weekend, won 2-1 on their travels.

Malvern Rangers drew 4-4 at Northside in the same division, while Anchor Falcons fell to a disappointing 3- 1 defeat to Saints.

The only match in the Premier Division saw Callow End beat Martley Spurs 4-0 to move up to fourth in the table.

Colwall St James won a high-scoring Division One encounter with struggling Hallow Village 5-4.

Darren Palmer cracked a treble and Ashley Jones a double in VBL Sports’ 5-1 victory at Malvern Victoria in Division Three.

Malvern Rangers VFC went down 4-2 to Hangover in Division Four, while Leigh and Bransford Badgers’ game with Westwide Wanderers was postponed.

Paul Edwards and Stuart Harvey netted four times each as Powick Reserves went through 8-4 in the Worcestershire FA Sunday Minor Cup at Pig and Drum.

This Sunday’s games see Callow End head to CMB Sports and Colwall St James at home to higher-ranked Coppertops Athletic in the Katherine Rayer Cup.

The Southam Cup pairs Anchor Falcons with Malvern Victoria in a town derby.

Powick Reserves and Leigh and Bransford Badgers are on the road in the Bernard Finnigan Cup at Pillar of Salt Korono and Hylton Road Rovers respectively.

In Saturday Division One, leaders Worcester Raiders crashed to a 6-2 defeat at Powick who took over at the top.

Harvey fired a hat-trick and Sam Rathbone added a brace for the villagers who host Arrow 2000 at Victoria Park in another clash of the high-fliers tomorrow.

Newtown Sports won 2-1 at the University of Worcester with goals from Brad Morton and Pat Lane and now head to Hallow tomorrow.

In Division Two, Kieran Scollan bagged both goals in West Malvern’s 2-1 home win over Foregate. Malvern Hills suffered a 4-2 away defeat to table-toppers Sylla despite Matt McIntosh’s sixth goal in his last seven appearances.

Rob Tyler also got his first of the season with both assists coming through Luke Carter.

They entertain Foregate tomorrow.
