SUNNY conditions suited Welland well at the Hill Centre in Upton on Saturday morning, where they greeted Ludlow FC.
The team from Shropshire had played host to Welland at Christmas, losing 3-2 to their guests on that occasion.
Welland scored first thanks to Luke Wellham after 20 minutes of hard work from both teams.
Just before half-time Will Chambers got Welland’s second, giving the hosts a much needed safety barrier.
The second-half saw both teams evenly matched with Ludlow looking dangerous and taking shots from all angles in an attempt to get back into the game.
But the Welland defence dealt with attacks and Mikey Catherall scored his side’s third.
Ludlow maintained pressure until the end, getting a well-deserved goal minutes from time.
