WELLAND lost their unbeaten league record to top team Evesham Robins. Early on Welland were unlucky not to take the lead after five minutes when a superb strike by Sam Whitton was met by an equally fine save.
After a scramble near the Evesham goal the ball was cleared quickly down field and into the space behind the Welland defence. Evesham’s John Robinson reacted first and raced in on goal. Oliver Latham-Jones tried to block but the powerful shot squirmed underneath his body and into the net.
Henry Dyde had a late shot cleared off the line for Welland.
