BRIDGE RANGERS 0, POWICK A 3
POWICK A travelled to Diglis to face Bridge Rangers in an eagerly anticipated Worcester Sunday League Division Three encounter.
Powick were determined to stamp their authority on the game with Dean Drinkwater bringing the keeper into action, with a well hit volley, in the first minute. and soon hit the sie netting after rounding the keeper.
Powick piled the pressure on to the Rangers goal and finally took the lead through Mike Collins, who fired home from a Powick corner.
Rangers came close to getting on the score sheet as a cross from the right was caught by the wind to rebound off the inside of Ashley Bennett's far post.
Powick nearly score again early in the second half. Dean Drinkwater reaping the benefits of Lee Jenkins hard work and closing down to latch on to a ricochet. His lob over the advancing keeper, looked goal bound, before the wind intervened again to take the ball just wide.
Powick were forced into a change midway through the second half as Mitch Probert replaced the injured Adam Munn.
Probert soon picked up where Ryan had left off spreading a range of passes all over the field. It wasn't too long before Powick doubled their lead. A Probert lay-off to Paul Ryan saw Ryan burst into the box only to be denied by a fine save, this time however, Lee Jenkins was on hand to poke the ball home.
The third goal duly came, as Luan Gashi capped an excellent display with a well-deserved goal.
