CURTIS Williams had a day to remember as he scored four goals and set up two others in Ledbury Town’s 7-0 thrashing of Tenbury Town at New Street.

Harri John opened the scoring on 20 minutes before Williams fired in his first on the stroke of half-time as Ledbury took control of the Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division clash.

Forward Williams turned provider at the start of the second half when his superb free-kick was nodded home by Matt Rooke.

After Williams notched his second he provided a further assist as his corner was headed in by Nat Dunk on 56 minutes.

Williams completed his hat-trick with a 20-yard strike that found the bottom corner before producing another fine finish to cap off a stunning afternoon.

Ledbury who sit in seventh position will wrap up their season with a home game against third-from-bottom Orleton Colts tomorrow (2.30pm).

Williams also got on the scoresheet in Town’s 3-2 victory over Hinton at New Street last Thursday.

But unlike Saturday’s match against Tenbury Ledbury were put under pressure as keeper James Loader managed to palm the ball around the post before the resultant corner was headed inches wide of the target.

It was an early wake-up call for Town as Charlie Docherty netted the opener on eight minutes after Josh Burns missed a sitter.

Archie White came close to adding a second on 22 minute when his attempted lob from 20 yards out clipped the post.

Dwayne Tyndale who usually plays in up front was doing a sturdy job in defence as Ledbury held a 1-0 lead at the break.

Moments into the second period White’s shot hit the crossbar before Tom Boyle went wide after being put through one-on-one.

But on 50 minutes Ledbury were awarded a penalty when Docherty was brought down and Williams converted it.

Docherty squandered a chance to give Town a three-goal cushion before Hinton cut back the deficit.

But Ledbury continued to threaten as Boyle saw his shot rattle the post.

White then fired the ball into the bottom corner on 77 minutes to give his side a 3-1 lead before Hinton scored a late consolation goal.

Ledbury Town Reserves’ season in Division One ended with a 2-0 defeat at Hinton Reserves last Thursday.
