MALVERN Town completed their West Midlands League Premier Division home fixtures with a 4-1 victory over mid-table Stone Old Alleynians.

The HDanywhere Community Stadium hosts started brightly and Kyle Belmonte fired just wide after a fifth-minute corner was cleared to the edge of the box.

Sam Rathbone was played in down the left soon after and ran into the box but was denied by diving keeper Matthew Burslem.

But from the resulting corner Dene Whittal-Williams headed in on eight minutes.

But the lead only lasted two minutes as the ball was crossed into the box from the left, the defender missed the ball and Sam Wilson slotted home.

Rathbone extended the lead in the 17th minute when he ran 20 yards following Josh Hunt's fine pass, rounded a defender and fired under the keeper into the net.

Burslem blocked from Hunt after Kyonn Evans' pass but third-placed Malvern made it three on 37 minutes.

Evans found Hunt again and he ran several yards before chipping the keeper.

Three minutes into the second period, Louis Loader ran down the right and crossed to Hunt whose shot was tipped away.

Evans nodded Loader's cross over and then Hunt fired off target from an assist by the same player.

But Malvern increased their lead on 80 minutes when Matt Fusco met Lewis Platt's left-wing cross with a classic volley.

Town manager Les Jones said: “I was delighted with the performance.

“It was a real team effort with everyone doing their job and getting us back into winning ways.

“We scored some good goals and defensively looked solid for the large part of the game. It was just disappointing that we couldn’t keep a clean sheet.

“It’s a run of seven away games for us now but we are determined to get as many points as we can to end the season strongly and finish as high as we can.”

Wednesday's short trip to Hereford Lads Club was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

On Saturday Malvern visit Cradley Town (3pm) and the under 21s are at home to Ewyas Harold in the Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division (2.30pm).

The under 18s are due to host Lydney Town on Monday (7.45pm).

The first team go to Pegasus Juniors on Tuesday next week (7.45pm) and on Thursday the under 21s are at home to Holme Lacy.
