HEREFORD FC's 53-game unbeaten run away from home in the league stretching back to August 2015 has finally been halted.

Pete Beadle's Bulls lost 3-2 at Southern League Premier Division title rivals King's Lynn Town despite being two goals up at half-time.

The Norfolk hosts went top of the table with their injury-time winner but Hereford are still well placed in fourth four points behind with four games in hand.

Jordan Liburd opened his Hereford account after slotting the ball home following a corner in the eighth minute before John Mills scored a crucial second goal on the stroke of half-time.

But former Kidderminster Harriers forward Michael Gash reduced the deficit on 49 minutes before Ryan Hawkins equalised 14 minutes later.

Hereford had plenty of chances notably through Mills and Lance Smith when they were leading 2-1.

But defensively they made a lot of mistakes and the Linnets won the game thanks to Toby Hilliard three minutes into stoppage time.

They powered to a 5-1 win over fellow high-fliers Coventry Sphinx watched by 516 fans at the Victoria Ground.

Sean Brain, Richard Gregory (2), Craig Jones and Sam Wills were on target for Sporting who also boast a game in hand over the table-toppers.
