THREE years ago, Hereford United were annihilated 6-0 by Truro City as the the end of the famous old club began to draw to a depressing end.

The Bulls were of course forever known for their historic FA Cup win over Newcastle, with Ronnie Radford's wonder goal and John Motson's commentary adding to the story.

But when the club were eventually wound up, many fans thought they would never see another famous cup match that United so frequently offered.

However, in the space of just over two years, Hereford FC have amazingly offered that gift.

When the club started in the Midland League, it would seem inconceivable that just two seasons later, we would be talking about a possible third round tie with former Premier League champions Leicester City.

But that is the prize at stake if the Bulls beat Fleetwood Town in their second round replay.

It is still a big if of course and the League One side will still be odds-on favourites to get the job done.

But this is the FA Cup and Hereford seem to have a knack of getting the right result.

The previous wins against Eastleigh and AFC Telford United were fantastic, but last Saturday's draw at Fleetwood was something else.

Here was a team that didn't just park the bus, they took the game to Uwe Rosler's side and frightened them.

The fans also easily out-sung the home supporters and they will make Edgar Street an intimidating atmosphere for the replay.

And with that support behind them, who is to say that Hereford cannot produce another magical chapter in their epic FA Cup journey?
