THE opening weekend of the McDonald’s Worcester and District Sunday Football League saw a resounding win for Premier Division champions Callow End as they thrashed FC Malvern 14-2.

Nick MacPherson, Jon Mann and Sam Black all cracked hat-tricks.

Newly promoted New Inn Athletic were involved in a thrilling 5-5 draw with Hallow who led 5-3 with only five minutes left.

Kyonn Evans fired a treble and Kyle Belmonte a double for Hallow with Charlie Joyner and Joey Haines both scoring twice for New Inn.

James Baldwin bagged two for Perrywood who won 4-1 at last season’s Division One champions Drakes Broughton Rangers.

Leon Roberts and Joe Tudor gave Northside a surprise 2-0 victory over The Gloster Arms.

Upton Snodsbury won 2-1 against Riverside with Mark Bellamy netting both goals.

In Division One Josh Stafford hit a hat-trick for Clifton Rovers who beat Malvern Rangers 5-2.

A 10-goal thriller at VBL Sports saw Hallow Village triumph 6-4 with Jon Speak notching a hat-trick and Ollie Kendall a double for the villagers.

Ryan Berrey scored twice as The Bell defeated Arrow 5-4.

Jon Leary and Jason Bibby both bagged braces as Colwall St James opened their Division Two programme with a 4-2 home win over Worcester City Wanderers with Matt McLatchy bagging two in reply.

Other doubles came from Ed Juckes of Korono, who won 3-0 at Malvern Vale, and Josh Powell as St Johns Colts beat Kempsey Colts United 4-3.

Eaton just scraped a 3-3 draw at Star and Garter with Ricardo Costa scoring twice.

Newcomers Perdiswell Colts made an impressive start in Division Three, romping home 6-1 at Powick with Owen Lane and Paris Blake both scoring twice.

Richard Gardner and Mark Edwards gave GDL Athletic a 2-0 victory against Brewers Saints.

There were goals galore at AFC Mazak who beat visiting Freemasons Arms 6-4.

Tom Corbett bagged two for Mazak with Craig Everett doing likewise for Masons.

Joe Morrall notched a double for Worcester Rovers who won 3-1 at Express Falcons.

Darren Palmer found the net four times and Ryan Walker twice as Grosvenor Sports despatched New Inn Sports (Malvern) 8-4 in Division Four.

Luke Arnold and Idris Agboola both bagged braces for New Inn.

Spa Rovers hammered Eaton Reserves 10-1 with Ashley Vickers grabbing a hat-trick alongside doubles rom Connor Grant and Edd Elt.

Other doubles came from Adam Rushton of Malvern Radar Youth, who beat Drakes Broughton Rangers Reserves 5-3, and Mark Underhill in Worcester Saints' 4-0 home success over Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves.
