HEREFORD'S management team do not agree that they have too many strikers on board after signing Jamie Molyneux from Westfields.

The Bulls now have five forwards at their disposal, but believe their latest recruit offers something different.

"I would class them as 'forward players' said Hereford assistant manager Steve Jenkins.

"You've got to have flexibility in the team and and get the balance right.

"With Jamie coming in, he brings that.

"He has that extra bit of pace and can run behind and stretch defenders."

Molyneux has played in a 4-3-3- formation at Westfields and Beadle admitted the options he has available gives him food for thought.

"The players we've got suit a 4-4-2, but Sean [Edwards] at Westfields likes to play a 4-3-3 and Jamie has done well in that system," said Beadle.

"Mike [Symons] and John [Mills] are, what I would class as out and out forwards, whereas Jamie Cuss and Pablo [Haysham] can play in numerous positions and in midfield.

"But I'm delighted Jamie has come on board as it's taken a while.

"He wanted to play his part in Westfields' game on Saturday and get them to the next round of the FA Cup, but I'm glad we've now got him and look forward to seeing him play at Edgar Street," said Beadle.

Edwards said he wishes Molyneux well, but hopes he gets the opportunities he deserves at Hereford.

"Jamie is a lovely lad but what they offered him made it impossible for him to turn down," said Edwards.

"I had a feeling two or three weeks ago that he would go because it would have been very difficult for him to turn them down and he will be playing in front of big crowds.

"Good luck to Jamie, obviously it's frustrating for us, because, as soon as you think you've got the right team to make a real go of it, you lose one of your players.

"But that's football and 'm not going to cry over spilt milk.

"I just hope that he gets better opportunities than Jamie Cuss got, that's my only concern.

"But it was a good competition between Jamie Molyneux and Dan Polan here because Dan has done particularly well in the position that Jamie has played.

"It means we haven't got much cover there now and, with all these cup games, we will have a lot of midweek games coming up.

"But we've just got to get on with it."

Edwards was hoping to sign Bishops Cleeve midfielder Ben Hayes this week, but he has decided to stay with the Gloucestershire club, who ply their trade in Southern Football League Division One South & West.

"We are disappointed because he would have been a great addition, but we respect his decision and we move move on to the next target," added Edwards.

Westfields are through to the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup and have a home encounter against Ryman Football League Premier Division leaders Leiston next Saturday.

"At this stage of the competition, you're going to get a tough draw, but we're going to enjoy the experience and see how we go," said Edwards.

"It's an opportunity for the lads to get to the first round proper and create a bit of history.

"I have no doubt that Leiston will be nervous because it's a potential upset.

"But we know what we're up against and it will very tough game."
