WELLAND Juniors host an open evening for girls and women on Thursday at Hanley Castle High School’s sports hall.

The free football session is to be held in conjunction with Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign and the FA’s We Can Play initiative.

Newcomers to the sport are welcome with the evening starting at 6pm for younger players of primary school age and from 7pm until 9pm for older girls interested in league football.

They aim to start a new under 12s team for next season with girls in school years six and seven needed.
