LEIGH and Bransford Badgers held their pre-season opening ‘Respect and Fair Play’ tournament at Ralph’s Field.
In fine conditions, the under 10s home teams of City and Hibernian were joined by sides from Eckington, Newtown Sports Colts, Welland Colts, Droitwich Spa and Warndon.
The event aimed to create, improve and maintain positive practices, relationships, camaraderie and spirit between the clubs, players, officials and supporters.
Parents voted for Welland as the best attacking team with Droitwich Spa the most organised defence and Leigh and Bransford Badgers City were the side the opposition enjoyed playing against the most.
The event was held to comply with FA guidelines with their Respect campaign.
All taking part understood the emphasis of the event was on participation and not the result of each game played.
